The Winthrop Harbor Fire/EMS Department is a member of the Quad-1 group of area departments. Services are provided throughout the fire protection district by highly trained professional fire fighters and emergency medical technicians. Fire Chief Ron Levin reminds residents that his department also provides services in the area of fire prevention.

The Winthrop Harbor EMA is a volunteer entity of the Village of Winthrop Harbor, dedicated to the prevention and alleviation of injury and damage from any natural or man-made disaster. WH EMA assists the Village in the case of disasters, natural or otherwise, to help provide safety and provisions to the residents of Winthrop Harbor. In addition, WH EMA helps to staff various Village events for traffic control and public safety.
